Dr. Anna Brzykcy

Anna Brzykcy joined the Chair of Research and Science Management in January 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher. In September 2019, Anna graduated from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) with a PhD in Management. Her dissertation is titled "Comparing workplace experiences of persons with and without disabilities: The role of labeling and work flexibility" (summa cum laude). She earned her M. Sc. in Psychology from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany). Previously she studied Psychology and German Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Poland) and Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany).

Anna’s work provides insights on the effects of (self-) stigma, work flexibility, and destructive forms of leadership behaviour. For example, she examines how official (self-) stigmatizing labels (e.g., severely disabled person) influence social inclusion at work. She also addresses the question of why some employees do not make negative attributions about their leader’s destructive behaviour, whereas others interpret the same behaviour negatively. In her role as systemic therapist and trainer for executive education, she is currently implementing workshops on the role of leadership for both leader and employee mental health.

Dr. Franziska Emmerling

As of Novemeber 2017, Franziska Emmerling is a post-doctoral fellow at the Chair of Research and Science Management.

At the Chair of Research and Science Management, Franziska Emmerling works on unravelling the multi-facetted mechanisms underlying destructive leadership on behavioural, cognitive, and biological level. Furthermore, she assists Professor Dr. Peus and her team regarding the enhancement of talent management and diversity programmes at TUM.

Her past research focuses on the behavioural and neural enhancement of cognitive control, response inhibition, and impulse control. Particularly, she investigated how inhibitory processing is mirrored in neural networks (employing brain imaging and non-invasive brain stimulation), how these networks can be modulated by multi-level interventions, and how such modulations are linked to impulsive and aggressive behaviour and other forms of self-control failure.

Dr. Martin Fladerer

Dr. Martin Fladerer ist seit April 2020 an der Professur für Forschungs- und Wissenschaftsmanagement tätig.

Gemeinsam mit Prof. Claudia Peus und Dr. Armin Pircher Verdorfer (Universität Amsterdam) arbeitet er im DFG-gefördertem Forschungsprojekt „Does the place make the people? The role of leadership and work climate for moral and prosocial socialization in the workplace“. Zuvor arbeitete und promovierte Martin am Center for Leadership and People Management der LMU München zum Thema „Identität in Führungsprozessen“. Er studierte Psychologie an der Universität Bielefeld (B.Sc.) und LMU München (M.Sc.).

Martins Forschung beschäftigt sich mit verschiedenen Facetten von Führungsprozessen. Eine zentrale Rolle spielt dabei die personale und soziale Identität von Führenden und Geführten. Darüber hinaus interessiert er sich auch für die ethische Dimension von Führung.

Dr. Eleni Georganta

Dr. Eleni Georganta joined the Chair of Research and Science Management in January 2020 as a postodoctal researcher.

She works as a senior researcher in TUM Research Lab Leadership | Learning | Innovation (Dr. Kristin Knipfer). Her research focus is on team adaptation, team processes, team performance, agility, and cultural diversity and their role and impact on leadership.

In March 2018 Eleni defended her PhD in Work and Organizational Psychology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich with a dissertation titled „Team Adaptation Process: An Empirical Investigation of this Unfolding and Dynamic Team Phenomenon”. She earned her MSc. in Organizational Psychology from University of Leeds and her BSc. in Psychology from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich.

Dr. Kristin Knipfer

Dr. Kristin Knipfer joined the TUM School of Management in 2012. Her research is situated at the intersection of organizational learning, leadership, and management education. Her research is relevant for organizations, teams, and leaders in contexts in which learning and knowledge transfer is crucial for success: entrepreneurship, organizational innovation, and academia.

Kristin Knipfer is responsible for the design of our evidence-based, custom-tailored leadership development program for academic and administrative leaders at TUM. As scientific advisor and teacher for the Executive Education, she has implemented innovative training methods including educational technology to support leaders’ learning and transfer of training.

Dr. Stephanie Rehbock

Stephanie Rehbock joined the team in June 2016 as a research associate. In March 2020, she defended her dissertation in Organizational Psychology, titled " Leader and Follower Perspectives on Leadership, Identity, and Career Advancement: Empirical Evidence from the Academic Context”.

Stephanie studied Communication Science (B.A.) as well as the international Master’s program “Psychology of Excellence in Business and Education” (M.A.) at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. She then joined the consulting company Accenture and worked as a management consultant in advising international clients with regards to Change Management, Leadership and Team Development in global transformation projects.

In her research, Stephanie Rehbock focuses on leadership, identity, career management, and diversity in business and academia. Additionally, she is a trainer in our course program for research and science managers, as well as for the Executive Education Center of TUM School of Management.

Dr. Ulf Steinberg

Ulf Steinberg joined the team of the chair of research and science management as a research associate in December 2013. His research focuses on leadership in large societal projects, such as, the introduction of highly automated vehicles and the digital transformation. In behavioral experiments, he analyzes the interaction of digital technologies with the behavior, cognition and emotions of leaders.

In addition, Ulf Steinberg is working as a teacher and systemic coach at the TUM Executive Education Center.

He has worked in the project management of a digitization project at the aircraft manufacturer Airbus after his studies of psychology at the universities of Trier and Paris.

Jakub Cichor, M.Sc.

Jakub Cichor joined the team in November 2018 as a research associate and PhD candidate in the Integrative Multimethod Leadership Lab (Dr. Franziska Emmerling). He completed the M.Sc. program Informatics: Games Engineering at the Technical University of Munich with a focus on serious games and gamification. His research interests are educational technologies, specifically the usage of robotics and virtual reality in leadership.

Leidy Cubillos-Pinilla, M.Sc.

Leidy Cubillos-Pinilla joined the team in 2018. She works as a research associate and PhD student at the Integrative Multimethod Leadership Lab (Dr. Franziska Emmerling). Her current research interests involve the electrophysiological basis and brain circuits underpinning behavioral, cognitive and emotional processes of different leadership styles. Other interests involve impulse control, cognitive flexibility, social neuroscience and big data statistics.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Biology from the University of Los Andes, Colombia. After completing her studies, she joined Mercados Zapatoca S.A, a leading chain of supermarkets in Colombia, and worked as the Head of Recruitment and Development HR. She completed her master’s degree of Neuro-Cognitive Psychology at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, München.

Regina Dutz, M.Sc.

Regina Dutz joined the team in 2017. She is working as a research associate and PhD student in the research project „Führend Wissen schaffen – Erfolgsfaktoren für Gewinnung und Aufstieg von Frauen in MINT-Führungspositionen in der Wissenschaft“ („FührMINT“). Her main research interests are gender stereotypes, personnel selection and leadership in academia.

Regina Dutz studied Management and Technology (B.Sc. and consecutive M.Sc.) at Technische Universität München with a focus on Marketing, Strategy & Leadership as well as Electrical Engineering & Information Technology.

Hannah Kunde, M.Sc.

Hannah Kunde joined the Chair of Research and Science Management in December 2018. She works as a research associate and PhD candidate in the Integrative Multimethod Leadership Lab (Dr. Franziska Emmerling). There she explores leadership from a (neuro)cognitive perspective to unravel the basic psychophysiological processes underlying effective and ineffective leadership behaviour.

Her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology of Teaching, Learning, and Training (B.A.) received Hannah Kunde from the University of Erfurt. Afterwards she studied an international, interdisciplinary and research-oriented master’s program in Psychology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (M.Sc. in Psychology: Learning Sciences).

Selina Stracke, M.Sc.

Selina Stracke joined the Chair of Research and Science Management in November 2018. She is working as a research associate in the Research Lab Leadership | Learning | Innovation (Dr. Kristin Knipfer). Selina Stracke studied business psychology at the Leuphana University in Lüneburg. She received her international master’s degree from the University of Amsterdam (Research Master Psychology).

Jennifer Wickert, M.Sc.

Jennifer Wickert joined the Chair of Research and Science Management in November 2019. She works as a research associate with a main focus on engagements in leadership research. She obtained her Bachelor and Master degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich and worked several years in the consulting and e-commerce industries before joining the team at the TUM.
