New TUM SEED Center founded

The new TUM SEED Center was founded in February 2020. It aims at contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 7, i.e. clean and affordable energies for all by 2030. The acronym SEED stands for “Sustainable Energies, Entrepreneurship and Development in the Global South“. It symbolizes the seed, which will thrive and prosper in the future. The TUM SEED Center is funded by DAAD exceed with financial resources from the Federal Minstry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The core team includes Prof. Dr. Frank-Martin Belz (Director), Dr. Daniela Gimenez (coordinator PhD program and financial manager), Johannes Winklmaier (coordinator master programs and living labs manager), Esther Salvi (event manager), and Alexandra Robayo (webmaster).

The new TUM SEED Center is an interdisciplinary and international initiative. The scientific board includes members from engineering, natural, social and economic sciences:

In the Center TUM will collaborate closely with the following leading technical universities from the Global South:
